About Her

Little Moments Of Bliss is a silhouette of a feeling that resides in my heart. A software engineer by degree, a writer at heart, and a teacher by profession, I'm all that I never thought I would be. Pretty pictures,a poem that blatantly refuses to rhyme, a text from a deranged friend, a sudden gesture of love, its these little things in life, that matter and sprinkle bliss. Grace the couch and share a cuppa!

Innocence [55Fiction #10]

How fast they grow up, not a second to waste, not a second to breathe. Those tiny palms, now filled with henna, those tousled hair, now puffed up with accessories, those muddy toes, now modestly polished.

Life passes us by in a jiffy. Halt for a moment today, and caress the scent of their innocence.

Paroxysm of Desire [55Fiction #9]

All the pleasure in the world seemed hers and she could hardly contain its enormity. She found a perch and placed the bag delicately as if it were a fragile piece of art. A paroxysm of desire burnt her as she slid inside the dress and muttered,

‘Ha! And you think you broke my heart!’

PS - Maybe not for all, but shopping is an instant remedy for many a wounds.

Bundle of Joy [55Fiction #8]

He clenched his fist around her tired finger, a tiny pink bundle and smiled into her pale face. Her hair, wet with sweat, pointed in every possible direction and the maternity gown hung lose from one of her shoulders, yet, she had never felt so beautiful.

She smiled back and whispered, You complete me baby.

The Street Vendor [55Fiction #7]

He knew it would be a beautiful day since the moment his first customer said Thank You to him. Never had a person spoken to him with such kindness. Although he couldn’t sell as many sweet-potatoes as he did everyday, content resided in him.

Those two little words filled the void of respect inside him.

Chaotic Gleam [55Fiction #6]

The inky sky is a beautiful hazy chaos today. These witty clouds have slyly conspired to send out old unspoken messages  to the universe, basking in their own apparent glory. They look happy and so am I.
For once, I wish the sun wouldn’t peep in, just this once, and then the clouds could rule.

PS - Not much of fiction went into writing this.

Reluctance [55Fiction #5]

She raised her right leg reluctantly and balanced her petite self on the heel of her left foot.
Bam !! She fell again, and naively blamed the new ballerinas.

'Am I cursed with two left feet ?'

The dog shook his head. The frock he wore danced in approval.
And her mother coyly smiled through the door.

PS - As you may have noticed, the picture was the inspiration here.

Life is a Dance [55Fiction #4]

They said 'Dance isn't your cup of tea'.
I retorted 'Life is a dance and I will live it gracefully'.

The eager reporter left and she waltzed around the room with her last performance, glimpses of her first ran inside her head.
The woman in the mirror was proud of her and nothing else mattered.

Happy Birthday [55Fiction #3]

"53 years of marriage and you still remain the most beautiful woman who has ever walked this earth for me"
His wrinkles accompanied his signature cheshire smile.

"Sir, your coffee, less milk, no sugar".

"Happy Birthday sweetheart"

He pressed the picture to his lips and with two neat folds, kept it back into his wallet.

The Forbidden Fruit [55Fiction #2]

He stumbles in, every friday, makes passionate love to me, lusts my body, and then leaves his money staring at my bare essence.

Love they say, is a happy emotion, takes you high on beatitude. Supreme Blessedness.

Just the sight of him sets my heart racing inside my chest. Then why is my love illegitimate ?

Irrevocable Words [55Fiction #1]

Though every syllable felt like a lie, he knew he had to come clean. She knew too. It was now or never. The words finally stung her, loud and clear, 'We should be friends now'.
A warm tear trickled down and she thought ,Everytime you walk away, you take a piece of me with you.
