About Her

Little Moments Of Bliss is a silhouette of a feeling that resides in my heart. A software engineer by degree, a writer at heart, and a teacher by profession, I'm all that I never thought I would be. Pretty pictures,a poem that blatantly refuses to rhyme, a text from a deranged friend, a sudden gesture of love, its these little things in life, that matter and sprinkle bliss. Grace the couch and share a cuppa!

Life is Short ?

They say "Life is short"
I say,
Aye fools, Don't you know ?
what really counts,
is all the happiness beyond those years.
Leave no desire untouched,
Let no passion stay unconcerned,
for it is only you, that matters.
If life offers a chance, Take it,
Let it explore 'You'.
Exchange a shy glance,
Leave your fate, for once, to chance.
Let the summer breeze wash away the guilt and the fears,
for, what really counts,
is all the happiness beyond those years.

PS - Lately, Poems have been growing on me. Kindly do tell, how I fare ? And is rhyming really all that important ? Because mine blatantly refuse to rhyme.

  2. Nah. Rhyme is not always part of poetry, emotion matters too.. And you got a lot in this. Direct expression, and it says what it needs to say. Stop living your life thinking you'll die, and just live when you can.. because happiness doesn't need to end even after death. Nice poetry.

And this was a beautiful poem. I agree, it's the life in the years, not the years of life.

  8. Beautiful expressions. Especially loved the line "Leave your fate, for once, to chance."
Nice work and flow of the poem is what matters and you are great at it :)

  9. Rhyming is not necessary, at least in my opinion. To me, poetry is all about painting a subtle and yet striking picture of the subject with a few words.

And you succeed at doing the same. :)

  10. A thought that is a part of every living human mind from the time the first one walked this planet ... how long, when .. we know not.

So it's time to have fun, let others have fun and try to be of some use to others!

Good poem .. and you don't have to worry about rhyming lines.

  14. Poems and rhymes, I'll quote A Pope on this,

"'Tis with our judgments as our watches, none
Go just alike, yet each believes his own.
In Poets as true Genius is but rare,
    True Taste as seldom is the Critic's share;
Both must alike from Heav'n derive their light,
These born to judge, as well as those to write.
Let such teach others who themselves excel,
    And censure freely who have written well;
Authors are partial to their wit, 'tis true,
But are not Critics to their judgment too?"

So, now you tell, how did you fare?

    Cheers,

  19. As John Keats says,
"Poetry should be great and unobtrusive, a thing which enters into one's soul, and does not startle it or amaze it with itself, but with its subject."
-Letter to John Hamilton Reynolds (Februrary 3, 1818).

Hence, I made my point. Nice.

  25. That was a lovely cheery poem :):) And as for rhyming, I don't think it should be forcible. It is good if it rhymes, but then it's not that important. :)

  28. This is as beautiful as it can be. rhyme isn't important as long as it touches a chord...and it touched many.

  29. It's a wonderful start... well a lot of people may tell you that poems must rhyme, but it doesn't really has to... It's a necessary only if you are writing a song.

You have started well, and should continue writing. There is a certain level of incoherence in your poem's meter, but don't think about it. It will improve as you continue writing. Also, try reading as many poems as you can, I recommend the Romantic Era...

    Regards,
    Narendra

  31. Whoa! I find that disclaimer (Mine just refuse to rhyme) below the poem, very catchy.

Rhyme or no rhyme- they make sense in a positive way. And that matters.
